As a Structural Engineer at Sweco, you are responsible for the design, calculations, and implementation of the structural stability of various industrial construction projects. You work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop structural solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
Design & Calculations: You perform structural calculations and design structural solutions for both new-build projects and renovations.
File Management & Permits: You prepare technical reports and project files, and ensure the necessary approvals and permits are obtained from the relevant authorities.
Collaboration & Coordination: You collaborate with other engineers, architects, and project teams to solve technical issues and ensure the integration of structural solutions into the overall design.
Site Follow-up: You monitor project execution, carry out technical inspections on site, and ensure that the structures comply with project standards and regulations.
Client Contact & Advice: You maintain contact with clients and stakeholders, provide technical advice, and ensure that the structural aspects of the project are delivered on time and within budget.
What we are looking for in a Structural Engineer
Education: You hold a master’s degree in civil engineering, with a focus on construction.
Experience: You have at least 5 years of experience in structural engineering or structural design.
Software skills: You are familiar with relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and various calculation programs for structural analysis (for example Diamonds, Scia, Concrete, etc.).
Communication skills: You communicate well and enjoy working in a team, while also being able to independently solve technical issues.
Problem-solving ability: You have an analytical mindset and are able to solve complex structural problems with innovative solutions.
Languages: You speak and write French fluently; Dutch and English are a plus.
